The Sandford Group was founded in 1990. The company was developed from a previous company owned by David Sandford Sr. (who retired) This previous company had extensive experience in large scale special event planning and implementation. Consulting in specialized publishing was also a service offered. One of the many projects developed was the Canadian Amateur Sport Awards. This high profile event was a $500.00 a plate event that raised funds for amateur sport. Dave and Steve Sandford worked for this company and gained valuable experience in developing marketing properties for the amateur sport industry.

In 1991, The Sandford Group and the Canadian Sports Federation developed a property called the "Sport Source". The publication was designed to be a communication tool for the amateur sport industry and assist in the process of tournament planning.

In 1995 a second print publication was created to cater to the same demographic as the Sport Source, but would focus on conferences and meetings for sport associations and their associated partners like the professional recreation trade. This publicaton is called Cornerstones Conference Edition.

In 1996 DSD Graphics (now called Digitally Creative) was created to offer print design services to the advertisers/associations associated with the two publications.

In early 1997 the company saw value in the internet and formed a division called Istarr.com. Istarr.com currently hosts in excess of 400 web sites and Digitally Creative builds web solutions for our internet customers.
