A Brief Overview:

Baton Twirling is available to all twirlers whether a beginner, advanced, a recreationalists or competitive participant.

Baton Twirling is a dynamic, physically demanding activity that requires extraordinary eye/hand co-ordination.

Participants in the sport exemplify the characteristics of a true athlete. Baton Twirling involves the use of a Baton in a choreographed routine in which the competitor's performance is judged and ranked in accordance with routine success.

Competitions exist for individuals, teams, and corps in a number of routines. the term corps in Baton Twirling refers to a group of 12 twirlers performing a routine. Teams are smaller groups, whose routines and time limits differ in competitions.

Participants in Baton Twirling may compete in two categories of competition: Individual or Group. In each of these categories, athletes are defined as either A (Advanced), B (Novice) or C. (Beginner). Individuals compete in Compulsory and Freestyle.
