In-Line Hockey
A Brief History:
With four players
plus a goalie side on the surface. In-Line hockey is similar to ice hockey,
except it is played on a surface such as concrete, wood and there is no
blue lines or offsides.
The sport has no defined
season, however it is most often played in summer and fall. House league
games or tournaments are played in neighbourhood shopping centres and
community facilities, whether they are parking lots, outdoor basketball,
indoor gymnasiums or vacant off season ice arenas.

Because of the sports
newness and popularity, the demand for structure and direction was eminent.
The National In-Line Hockey Association thus was formed as the governing
body for the sport to provide developmental assistance for league growth
through experienced personnel and the cooperation and financial assistance
of several key sponsors.
The NIHA has committed
itself to ³Family, Fun Fitness and Friendship² as values to be upheld
and encouraged.
